Meaning & source
A gift, a kindness received: al-Layth, quoted in Lisān, “al-nāʾil is what you obtain of a person’s kindness”. Lisān adds that a generous man is called nāl, originally nāʾil.
The feminine, Nāʾilah, is listed separately. No early bearer recorded here; the word is classical Arabic.
